PT1000 Measure Instruments Platinum Resistance Temperature Sensor
Platinum Resistance Temperature Sensors
Similar to thermistors, platinum resistance temperature sensors (RTDs) are heat sensitive resistors made of platinum.
Platinum resistance temperature sensors utilize the characteristics of platinum metal to measure temperature by changing its own resistance value when the temperature changes, and the display instrument will indicate the temperature value corresponding to the resistance value of the platinum resistance. When there is a temperature gradient in the measured medium, the measured temperature is the average temperature of the medium layer within the range of the sensing element.
Platinum resistance can be divided into ultra-low temperature, low temperature, medium temperature and high temperature ranges according to the measurement temperature range, of which the
ultra-low temperature range: -196 ° C to +150 ° C,
low temperature range: -50 ° C to +400 ° C,
medium temperature range: -70 ° C to +500 ° C, and
high temperature can be used for temperature measurement up to 850 ° C.

The Features of Platinum Resistance Temperature Sensor
Thin-film RTD platinum resistance elements are characterized by high accuracy, high stability, and fast response, and are often used in the fields of instrumentation, medical equipment, and chemical equipment. Platinum resistors have a linear relationship between resistance value and temperature.
Platinum resistance sensors have good long-term stability, with typical experimental data of 300 hours at 400°C and a maximum temperature drift of 0.02°C at 0°C.
The Advantages of PT100, PT200, PT1000 Platinum Temperature Sensor for Measure Instruments
High resistance value: the resistance value of pt100 platinum resistance is 100 ohms at 0, and the resistance value of pt1000 platinum resistance is 1000 ohms. The resistance value of platinum resistance decreases gradually with the increase of temperature, so it is suitable as the core component of temperature instrument.
High sensitivity: It can quickly respond to changes in ambient temperature, and its corresponding time is only 0.15s in slow flowing water.
Small size: very small, on the order of millimeters, so it is especially suitable for installation in places with limited space, such as temperature instruments. The temperature instrument itself is small in size, and the thin-film platinum resistor is very suitable.
Good stability: Statistics also show that platinum resistors work continuously at 600 for more than 1000 hours, and the resistance change is less than 0.02%.
Low cost: The cost is low under the condition of mass automatic production, which is 50%-60% lower than similar wirewound resistors.
